"Babooska" - International Festivals

Tizza Covi and Rainer Frimmel’s film (Prix international Scam 2006) was awarded ex-aequo Best Austrian Documentary 2006 together with Arash’s "Exile Home Movie", screened at the Eurodoc-Script meeting of Cinéma du Réel 2006. The film has received a special mention from the "Uno sguardo nuovo" Jury at Alba’s Infinity Film Festival, Italy, march 31st-april 8th 2006. It also received the Berlinale Wolfgang Staudte Award and Bolzano Festival’s Public Award.
It has been selected to numerouse festivals: Rennaissance Festival Minneapolis St Paul (United States), Los Angeles Film Festival (United States), Haifa International Film Festival (Israel), The Times BFI London Film Festival (Great Britain), Doclisboa (Portugal), Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival (Czech Republic), Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (Mexico), Duisburger Filmwoche (Germany).
It has been shown at the last Cannes Film festival in the ACID selection.
It will be theatricaly released in Austria on November 17th 2006 and has been bought by RAI Sender Bozen.
